Dealing with damp in our Aussie homes

Dealing with Damp is simple.  Poorly ventilated sub floors is a very common problem in Australian homes.  Sub floor damp then creates issues of mould and mildew inside the home
xchange air have the solutions.

Solution One
Sub Floor Ventilation Fans

This system is designed to exhaust damp trapped air from the sub floor and introduce fresh air in through existing or new passive vents.  This cuts off the source of the moisture from being evaporated through timber floors into the property which helps with mould and mildew issues and protects your timber floors. Xchange air also have second solution (see below) which can be used in conjunction with, or alternatively to, subfloor ventilation fans.

Solution Two (A)
Positive Input Ventilation (PIV)

Essentially the concept of our whole home ventilation systems (PIV) is the introduce fresh, filtered air into the dwelling at a continuous rate, encouraging movement of air from inside to outside.

To achieve this, the unit is mounted in the roof space, drawing air through the filters and inputting it, at ceiling level, into the property.  The units are fitted with an internal temperature sensor.  This sensor continuously monitors the temperature in the roof, boosting the air volume when the roof temperature is above a set level (heat recovery mode). It also has a small heater to temper the incoming air so the fan can run overnight.

xchange air appartment ventilation

If the roof temperature becomes excessive the unit will switch to standby mode (no airflow).  Once installed the airflow can be set to suit the house size and if required the way it responses to the temperature changes within.

We also have another exciting PIV product that in the same way as above it is designed to take fresh air from outside clean the air, warm it (if fitted with heater) and discharge it into the central hallway.  The advantage of this system and the way it can be installed is that it’s perfect for Units, Apartments and houses with no roof space.

Solution Two (B)
Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV)

This system is designed to introduce clean, dry, healthy air into our homes. This is the only system on the Australian market that will even heat the incoming air if the temperature drops too much, thus leading to a much more consistent environment. This introduced filtered and dried air will fight mould and mildew problems in the home, leaving a clean and healthy environment for the entire family.

Sub Floor Ventilation Fans

Airflow is created in the house subfloor by a powerful, whisper quiet, inline fan that creates a low pressure system under the floor which draws in drier external air through passive vents and exhausts out the damp trapped air outside the house.

Positive Pressure Ventilation

Dry, healthy air is introduced to each area of the house by pulling air through a filter, fan heater (if required) and a pure air module then diffusing it into the home. This creates a consistent positive air pressure environment inside the home that is controlled by an electronic control panel.
