Get rid of damp in your home for good

How to really remove mould

Sick of spending a fortune on damp absorbers and running dehumidifiers only to still have pesky mould spreading across your walls and ceilings? Here’s the truth: most damp solutions on the market don’t work, and most mould removal products are just a band-aid. To remove mould, you need to address the real cause. And that cause for most homes is sub floor damp, leading to mould and mildew inside the home. The great news is that dealing with damp is actually simple. Manage and fix poor sub floor ventilation and hey presto! Mould and mildew problems fixed. Here’s how xchange air can help you.
sub floor ventilation

How to remove mould with sub floor ventilation fans

Many household mould problems are a direct result of under floor moisture evaporating through timber floors into the property. Using whisper quiet and energy efficient sub floor ventilation fans, we remove damp trapped air from under your house and introduce fresh air through either existing or new passive vents. By cutting off the source of moisture, mould and mildew problems are stopped, with the added bonus of protecting your timber floors.

Positive Input Ventilation

Fix damp with positive input ventilation (PIV)

Either used in conjunction with, or as an alternative to, sub floor ventilation, positive input ventilation (PIV) is a whole home ventilation system. Positive input ventilation means that fresh air is drawn into the roof, filtered, and then diffused into your home at a continuous rate, encouraging the movement of air from inside to out.

A unit is mounted in the roof space and disperses fresh air at ceiling level. The units are fitted with an internal temperature sensor, so that air volume can be increased when the roof temperature is above a set level for passive heat recovery in the cooler months. If temperatures in the roof get too hot, standby mode kicks in to reduce air flow and prevent overheating your home. An option is also available for a unit that discharges into the central hallway – perfect for units, apartments and houses with no roof space.
